The role of the Neighborhood Ambassador is to ensure the Liberty Hospital Half Marathon/ Jewell 5K is a good community partner and assist businesses and residents on race day. The Neighborhood Ambassador will be responsible for:
*Represent & Recruit: Reach out to your neighbors to invite them to participate in the race either as a runner or volunteer.
*Be a resource: Respond to questions from the course notification mailing (Liberty Hospital Half Marathon & 5K will be responsible for creating and sending out the course notification several weeks prior to race day.)
*Promote: Attend community/neighborhood association meetings to ensure everyone is aware of the course, timeline and alternate routes
*Spread the news: Help distribute yard signs to interested supporters/neighbors and help distribute parking notice flyers on cars along the race route the week of the race.
*Get social: Working with the Liberty Hospital Half Marathon and 5K team to create social media posts for community and neighborhood associations to post on their various social media outlets.
– Respond to calls and emails regarding the course and provide
alternate routes when necessary.
– Must have extensive knowledge of Liberty streets and neighborhoods.
– Experience with Social Media is preferred.
– Must be available February 28th – March 2nd.
This volunteer role begins September 1, 2018 and continues until March 15, 2019.
This is a volunteer role but the Neighborhood Ambassador will receive a complimentary entry into the 5K or the Half Marathon if they choose to run
